A race that has always been a dive into the heart of sporty Rome.
“La Corsa di Miguel” is dedicated to the athlete Miguel Sanchez, runner and poet, one of the thousands of desaparecidos killed by the Argentine government for political purposes.
Established in 2000 based on the idea of the journalist of the Gazzetta dello Sport Valerio Piccioni and organized by the Atletico Centrale Club in collaboration with the Assessorato alle Politiche Sportive of the Comune di Roma, it now boasts a large number of adhesions, as shown by the meeting at the Marmi Pietro Mennea Stadium and the arrival in the huge Stadio Olimpico. A scenario that replaced that of the first editions, with the start and finish at the Paolo Rosi Stadium, at the Acqua Acetosa, which then became too small to contain the crowd of runners, competitive and other, of the contest.
Many Italian sport stars were present at former editions, including Massimiliano Rosolino, Alessandra Sensini, Margherita Granbassi and Alessandro Marcianò, but of course the competition is always open to everyone, of all ages, competitive and non-competitive, on two tracks of ten and three kilometers.
Information: www.lacorsadimiguel.it Opening hours: meeting from 8 a.m. at the Stadio dei Marmi. Departure at 9.30 a.m. from Piazzale della Farnesina. The finish will be judged on the Olympic Stadium track.
