From 9 October a combined event exhibition focused on the connection between Antonio Canova and the city of Rome.
More than 170 works by the famous sculptor and contemporary artists will animate the rooms of the Museum of Rome until 15 March 2020, to tell the story and the art found by Canova in Rome in 1779 in thirteen sections. The exhibition, promoted and produced by Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Growth – Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and Arthemisia, organized with Zètema Progetto Cultura and curated by Giuseppe Pavanello, based on precious loans from important museums and collections, including the Hermitage of St. Petersburg, the Vatican and Capitoline Museums, the Fine Arts Academies of Bologna and Ravenna, the Museo Correr of Venice and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.Through sophisticated lighting solutions, the warm torch-light atmosphere with which the artist welcomed his guests in the via delle Colonnette atelier will be recalled along the exhibition route.
