The Accademia di Belle Arti of Rome pays tribute to the great figure of Antonio Mercadante, just over a year after his untimely death, with an exhibition of 12 artists he followed and supported

Renato Carosone, Salvo Catania Zingali, Giulio Catelli, Carmelo Giallo, Alessandra Giovannoni, Gaetano Giuffrè, Guido Giuffré, Paolo Guarrera, Giovanni La Cognata, Ruggero Savinio, Vincenzo Scolamiero, Luciano Vadalà collected in an exhibition at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, curated by Walter Angelelli, Francesca Bottari and Stefano Petrocchi, that wants to pay tribute to his figure as a fervent art critic, essayist, photographer and documentary filmmaker. The catalogue entitled “Human landscapes: Antonio Mercadante, his writings and his artists” published by Gangemi Editore is dedicated to the exhibition and to the work of this extraordinary character. The book, full of images, illustrates the history of the critic and his relationship with the artists, the way to build an intimate and enlightening dialogue, which made his work exciting and alive.
